There is truth in beer,
So said a peer;
A statement so modest -
It forgot to be honest.
The truth from the beer,
I wish not to hear;
A gift so fleeting -
It leaves my teeth gritting.
The truth is the beer,
Is but a hidden gear;
A ploy with a link -
Under the guise of a drink.
The truth and the beer,
I find so very near;
I must see through the froth -
To the bear in the truth.

simple, effortless(short for this rhyming business),like another sip of tusker malt!
Posted by maaca | June 7, 2010, 4:52 pmgood use of rythm, please lets agree once and for all; rhyme doesn’t necessarily do justice to a poem; not even to the rythm
Posted by chrispus | June 11, 2010, 12:42 ami am from the school of thought that rhyming on poetry is like dancing in the rain. So much better
