Peculiarly Kenyan Short Story Contest Shortlist

Hello Writers,

I expect you must be anxious to see the final shortlist of the stories submitted for the Peculiar Kenyan Short Story Contest. And here it is. There will be no voting this time because Sunny Bindra, the Author of The Peculiar Kenyan will  decide on the winning story in the course of this week.

However, your helpful and critical comments will no doubt be much appreciated by the writers of the short stories. So please read through them and comment.

1. Slippery Slope: A single bead of sweat rolled down the middle of his forehead and made its lonely journey along the bridge of his nose, finally settling at the tip. It hung there precariously for what seemed a lifetime before dropping downward.

2. What did he Steal: Blows rain down on him from all directions. He draws his knees and crosses his puny arms above his forehead to shield himself. He is only a child.

3. The Devil Loves Weddings: She wore her skirt seven inches above her knees, so that it cropped up her thighs when she sat down. (My mama used to say that big-legged women were going to kill me).

4. Nairobi Blues: It’s a bright and sunny morning. Everybody seems to have a smile on their face they might as well be in a Broadway musical. The sun’s rays break golden into a beautiful display color and light.

5. Sex Scandal: So I get to the office in the morning and find everyone jumping into cars and speeding off!! We had an event at Peponi School at 8am. So everyone was rushing there.

Have a peculiarly creative week!
