A multimedia show with film, spoken word, storytelling, live art and music celebrating the energy and creativity of our youth as they mentally break free from shackles of the past.

Featuring short performances from past Slam Africa poets Dante, Akuya, Murathe and G-cho Pevu, Nyef Nyef Nightrunners, The Theatre Company and Mistik Natural, while artists from Kuona Trust create live art for display and sale.


International performers include poets Dizreali (UK), Vulelwa Maluleke (SA), Rashida Namulondo (Uganda), Esther-Karin Mngodo (Tanzania), Ladanay Osman (Somalia/ USA), Neal Hall (USA), and Liyou Lebsekal (Ethiopia). Music by Start A Library’s Reading Ambassadors KIU and Ayrosh!
