We Broke the National Read Aloud Record!

readaloudYes, we did!

Storymoja and Start a Library took one more step towards breaking the world record of Most People Reading Aloud at the Same Time, from the Same text, from Different Venues.

160,190 children from 422 schools in 12 counties read aloud on Friday the 30th of January to smash the previous National record! We thank teachers, parents, reading ambassadors and the many volunteers who helped make this happen.

Storymoja’s vision is to get A Book in Every Hand. Our latest initiative is Careerpedia – an encyclopaedia full of down-to earth descriptions and interviews with professionals working in 120 careers. Careerpedia will also roll out a formal mentorship network that invites and trains mentors to help students plan their future.

We will launch Careerpedia at our inaugural Storymoja Festival in Nakuru on Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th May 2015, at the Kenya National Library Service Nakuru BranchBe there!

A reading nation is a smarter nation.
