Celebrating East African Writing!
Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, through a combination of four-week residencies and one-week conferences, enables the advancement of critical dialogue, thinking and action that promotes the well-being of humanity throughout the world. The Center’s programs support the work of scholars, artists, thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners from a wide diversity of geographies, sectors and disciplines, extending the rich history of the Center as a convening space for critical cross-disciplinary and international discourse.
Today, the Center has a heightened focus on enabling individuals and organizations that are shaping the thinking and catalyzing action around the Foundation’s strategic goals of building resilience and advancing more inclusive economies. Convening prominent experts, influencers, and other key stakeholders to advance knowledge, form new partnerships, financial commitments, and initiatives that support these goals, enables the Bellagio Center to advance the mission of the Foundation as a compliment to its grant-making efforts.
The annual fall competition for academic writing, and arts and literary arts residencies at the Foundation’s Bellagio Center opened on October 1, 2015 with a final deadline for applications on December 1, 2015. Applicants accepted during this open call will be awarded residencies between August and December of 2016.
