Unsaid

Written by Shiro Njagi

I was hoping

You would see inside my mind

So I wouldn’t have to say a word

I was hoping

You could read my expression

And tell me the words I so longed to hear

I was hoping

My feelings were hidden

Behind my face that is an open book

I was hoping

You wouldn’t see the tears

That threatened to teeter down the edge of my eyes

I was hoping

You would understand my need for pride; for dignity

But here we are

Words said

Feelings unsaid.

i like the contradictions running through unsaid. so true that words sometimes mask feelings.interesting that the speaker expected us to be mindreaders and decipher unspoken emotions.my vote 4
